The 2018 Iroquois Steeplechase will be held
Saturday, May 12.

The Iroquois Steeplechase has been Nashville's rite of spring since 1941, attracting more than 25,000 spectators to watch the best horses and riders in the world race three miles over hurdles on a manicured turf track.


Tailgating Packages

All tailgating packages receive a 13’ x 18’ tailgating space, armbands for 8 people and two Lot T parking passes--with exception to those in The Meadows, which receive a 20x27’ space. Tailgaters may visit all other tailgating areas, including the Iroquois Shoppes and the Family Area. Additional individual tailgating armbands may be purchased here.

Located hillside, the Stirrup Club has some of the best views!


Situated inside the track, it has its own Jumbotron so guests are sure to get premium action.



This area features our most spacious tailgating areas (20x27’ space), so you can really spread out!


Infield tickets are sold individually and provide access to all tailgating areas on the grounds, including the Family Area.

Infield Tickets

Looking to join in the Iroquois Steeplechase tailgating experience, but don’t want to go with a big group? Here's your chance! Tickets to the infield provide access to all tailgating areas on the grounds, including the Iroquois Shoppes, the family area and the food truck section. Parking at Highway 100 is included, and a shuttle to and from the grounds will be provided.


The Fox Den

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Iroquois Steeplechase: The Fox Den! Located in the middle of the infield, the Fox Den is an add-on option for adult racegoers to enjoy food, beverages and entertainment all day.


Please note: Purchasing a ticket to The Fox Den does not grant you entry to the race grounds.
All Fox Den ticket holders must have also purchased an infield ticket, or be part of a tailgating space or box seat.

If you’re from out of town, celebrating something special or are just looking for a hassle-free race day, consider our all-inclusive tailgating package in The Meadows that offers extra space, more people, and comes with everything included. What’s not to love? 

All-Inclusive Tailgating Tent

Price: $860 (8 Guests)

  • One 20′ x 27′ tailgating spot in the Meadows (largest in the infield)

Family Area

This is an alcohol-free tailgating area located adjacent to Gaucho Road, which offers more flexibility in departure from race grounds and boasts a terrific play area for the kids and close proximity to the track for race viewing. Includes one 20′ x 27′ tailgating space for 8 people (children under 2 do not require an armband), and up to 8 extra armbands that may be purchased for additional guests. Guests may visit all other tailgating areas, and the Iroquois Shoppes. Food and drink will be available for purchase in the Family Area.


VIP & Catered Areas

The Iroquois Steeplechase offers five VIP options that give ticketholders a premium seat to the excitement, in addition to all-inclusive options. Options for individuals, and big companies too!


Located along the box seats, this completely-tented area gives a front-row seat to the excitement. Ticket includes gourmet catered food and beverages, live music and one of the best views on the grounds in a prime location.



Entertain in tented luxury, and leave the details to us. Located inside the track, rail-side, with plenty of room for cornhole boards. Accommodates groups of 20 up to 140 guests. Four package options, scaling in price.

Join 104-5 The Zone WGFX for the Zone Tailgate! Ticket includes complimentary food and beverage, and a chance to watch the race with your favorite radio personalities.

  • Tailgate with your favorite radio personalities from 104.5 The Zone, Nashville’s best sports talk radio station in this exclusive, private rail-side tent experience.

  • Includes one armband allowing private access to The Zone Private Tent within the Meadows area.

  • One Lot T parking pass.

  • The Zone will provide the food and beverages to make this special tailgate complete.


Each suite includes a climate-controlled environment with panoramic windows, hardwood floors, granite counter tops, wet bars, a private bathroom and more. 

Individual seats in the Suites are now available!


Hunt Club

Located along the box seats, this completely-tented area gives a front-row seat to the excitement. Ticket includes gourmet catered food and beverages, live music and one of the best views on the grounds in a prime location.

Individual and full table reservations will receive their assigned seat location at Hunt Club check in.
The Hunt Club opens at 11AM on race day.


General Admission

Ticketholders will watch the excitement from the Hillside spectator area, where there’s primetime viewing to watch the horses stretch their legs and access to Iroquois Shoppes and the Family Area, where the children's games are located. A complimentary shuttle service from the Highway 100 parking lot to the General Admission is provided. Picnics and blankets are encouraged! Please note general admission tickets do not give access to tailgating areas. Consider purchasing a single tailgate armband, if you would like to be in tailgating.


RV Parking

A limited number of RV spaces are available along the track, in the area closest to the stables. Includes one 15’ x 30’ tailgating space, armbands for 10 people and two Lot T parking passes for accompanying vehicles, with up to eight extra armbands that may be purchased. Guests may visit all tailgating areas, the Family Area and the Iroquois Shoppes. This is part of the tailgating area.

A long-standing tradition of the Iroquois, our box holders have access to the Iroquois Shoppes, as well as tailgating & family areas.

Box seats are sold out for the 2017 races--but please add your name to our waitlist for following years, or consider purchasing a ticket to our luxurious, climate-controlled Skybox Suite.

An exclusive venue for Box Seat ticket holders only, the Iroquois Society offers premium viewing of the races. Your Iroquois Society tent pass provides you with all-day gourmet food and beverage service in a luxury atmosphere, with exclusive valet parking and private restrooms.

This private party area, open exclusively to Box Seat guests, has sold out each year, so order your tickets early. The Paddock Club pass includes private restrooms, and all-day food and beverage service in a private tent located at the top of the Box Seat area.

Leave your picnic planning to us by adding this box lunch service to your Box Seat ticket.  Includes a delicious boxed lunch with or without full beverage service throughout the day.


Receive exclusive access to The Fox Den, a hospitality tent located in the middle of the infield. Ticket price includes food, beverage and entertainment all day. 



Lot M parking is available for additional parking for box holders only. Price is $50 per additional parking pass. No tailgating is allowed in Lot M.

The Iroquois Steeplechase is run by the nonprofit, 501c3 organization The Volunteer State Horsemen's Foundation whose function is to manage and produce a world-class event and to promote the sport and the spirit of amateurism throughout the community. Guidelines & Questions


Can a general admission ticket get me into the tailgating area?
No. A $20 general admission ticket allows you access to the general admission section only. For tailgating access, consider purchasing a single tailgating armband.

Can I buy alcohol on the grounds?
No, we are not allowed to sell alcohol on the park grounds. You are welcome to bring your own, though we suggest you review our race-day tips & guidelines for more details.

Can I buy food on the grounds?
There will be a limited number of food trucks on the grounds, and food and drink will be available for purchase in the Family area.. However, we encourage you to bring your own food, too!

Can I get a refund?
All sales are final, and no refunds will be issued. 

 Can I leave my car parked overnight on Saturday?
Yes, but you must pick up your car by Noon on Sunday (or risk being towed).

Can I bring an oversized vehicle into tailgating?
SUVs and standard trucks are allowed. However, no limos or buses are allowed inside the gates.

Can I set up the night before? 
No, you may not enter or set up the Friday before the race.

When do the gates open for me to set up?
Gates open at 8 a,m. on Saturday. 

Can I pass out flyers or other promotional materials?
No, not unless you have been approved to do so by the Iroquois Steeplechase office.

Can someone pick up my tickets at will call on my behalf?
Please make sure to bring your PDF redemption ticket to one of the Will Call locations to redeem for your armband/pass. The ticket will be scanned and exchanged. The purchaser does not have to be the one to redeem, only must provide the Redemption ticket.

Will Call is located at 7179 Highway 100, near the Old Hickory Blvd intersection.
