Celebrating Excellence: 75 Years of the Iroquois Steeplechase (Book)

When an event is fortunate enough to reach a milestone like its diamond anniversary, it is cause for celebration and reflection, a pause to look back at where the event began, how it grew, and where it is headed.

Founders, family, friends, owners, trainers and riders associated for the past 75 years with the Iroquois Steeplechase are being interviewed and recorded to gain the historical knowledge and content to produce a commemorative book entitled, Celebrating Excellence – 75 Years of the Iroquois Steeplechase.

Involvement with “Nashville’s Rite of Spring Since 1941” is a time-honored tradition that has brought the community together year after year. The Volunteer State Horsemen’s Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, sees a 75th anniversary book as an excellent way to celebrate this year’s milestone and memorialize the race in print so that people may look back upon it whenever they please.  Most importantly, it will assist in spreading recognition of the race into the community, helping to ensure the next generations of race supporters.

Insider’s stories, dramatic finishes, magic moments and archival content will be spun together in tribute to the men and women leaders and supporters of Nashville’s own Iroquois Steeplechase.
