The TVV-Iroquois Cheltenham Challenge
Win Two Races, Receive A $500K Bonus!
The Iroquois Steeplechase has partnered with the world-famous Cheltenham Racecourse in England to announce a partnership and a $500,000 bonus challenge to any horse that can win both the Sun Bets Stayers' Hurdle Race at Cheltenham in March AND the Grade 1 Calvin Houghland Iroquois Hurdle Stakes in May -- or vice versa -- within a 12‐month period. The Iroquois Cheltenham Challenge -- which was recently renewed with a new title sponsor, local private equity firm TVV Capital -- looks to reignite the cross‐Atlantic rivalry that has been a part of steeplechase racing through history.
TVV Capital is a Nashville-based private equity firm that acquires and grows businesses in the manufacturing, distribution and service industries across the Eastern United States. The hallmarks of TVV Capital companies are strong management teams, consistent profitability, a defensible market niche, and an identifiable growth path, either through organic, internal growth or through acquisition.
$10,000,000 And Counting For Children....
The Iroquois Steeplechase is run by the nonprofit, 501c3 organization The Volunteer State Horsemen's Foundation whose function is to manage and produce a world-class event and to promote the sport and the spirit of steeplechasing throughout the community.
Since being designated as a primary beneficiary in 1981, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt has received more than $10 million from The Volunteer State Horsemen's Foundation. In addition, our organization supports Friends of Warner Parks and other deserving nonprofits and charities.
We are honored to name many of Nashville's top businesses as sponsors of our event. It's with their tremendous support that we're able to promote the sport of steeplechasing and contribute to several deserving organizations in the community. Part of what makes Steeplechase a successful and special event is the people who attend year after year. In 2016, we were thrilled to be a part of the engagement of a young couple, Michael and Olivia. The soon-to-be groom has been raised on the tradition of attending Steeplechase with his family, and thought the 75th Anniversary of our event to be the perfect time to surprise his girlfriend with an engagement ring at his family company's tent in Hospitality Village.
