 Griff, Gabby, and Gracie Ross were born almost fifteen weeks premature on January 6, 2007. All three little miracles spent just over 100 days in neonatal ICU before coming home. But their struggles were far from over. Griff, who had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, had to undergo multiple procedures at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, including two separate shunts to help regulate cerebral fluid, as well as a hernia operation. All three Ross children were diagnosed with Bronchopulmonary Displasia, a disease which required multiple hospital visits and made the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt a vital part of the children’s early years. Today, Griff, Gabby, and Gracie are all happy, healthy and energetic three-year-olds thanks, in large part, to the ongoing, wonderful care from the physicians and staff at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
