The following Tailgating Rules and Regulations are designed to provide all guests an enjoyable and safe experience.  Questions not answered here may be submitted to the Iroquois Steeplechase office by sending an email to: info@iroquoissteeplechase.org.

 

Alcoholic Beverages
  • Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors is prohibited by law
  • Be prepared to show identification
  • No drinking games are allowed (ie. ice luges, beer pong, etc)
  • No kegs are allowed
  • Glass of any kind is not allowed
 
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department will be monitoring all areas during race day and will issue citations as deemed necessary.
 
Animals
  • No pets are allowed on the grounds, except for service animals
 
Children
  • All children over 2 years of age are required to purchase an armband to gain entry.
 
Credentials/Parking
  • Armbands must be worn at all times. They are non transferable and any duplication or counterfeiting of armbands will be punishable by Iroquois Steeplechase.
  • The vehicle parked within your tailgating spot must have the correct parking pass. Only one vehicle per tailgating space will be allowed. Any accompanying vehicles must park in Lot T on Vaughn Road and must have a parking pass to enter the lot. Stirrup Club accompanying vehicles will park in the lot on Highway 100 and must also have a parking pass to enter the lot.
  • Inside the track tailgaters (The Turn, Centerfield, Stretch, Midfield, Topside, and The Meadows) and their guests will not be allowed access to any areas on the outside perimeter of the track. 
  • Stirrup Club tailgaters will be allowed to cross the track at designated locations and must have their armbands on at all times.
  • Tailgaters with Hunt Club tickets will not be allowed to cross the track to access Hunt Club. 
  • Iroquois Steeplechase security has the right to limit access to any designated area for crowd control and safety purposes.
  • Cars, trucks, SUVs or vehicles (other than RVs) are not allowed within the RV tailgating areas except the tow vehicle for the RV. Tag along vehicles are not allowed.                                                                                                        
 
Entertainment
  • No organized athletic games are allowed
  • Amplified bands or DJs are strictly prohibited. In vehicle sound systems must be at acceptable noise levels. Iroquois Steeplechase reserves the right to reduce sound levels if necessary.
  • No inflatable devices such as slides, obstacles courses, or rock climbing walls are allowed
  • No pyrotechnics or fireworks are allowed on the grounds
 
Equipment
  • Portable restrooms may not be brought onto the grounds
  • Propane tanks are NOT allowed
  • Generators are NOT allowed
  • Grills are NOT allowed
  • The display of banners, signs or advertising are strictly prohibited
  • No weapons or firearms are allowed on the grounds
 
Food and Beverages
  • You are more than welcome to bring your own food and beverages
  • Concessions will be available to purchase within the tailgating area
  • You can purchase a tailgating picnic basket ahead of time and pick up at the race! You can find a copy of the order form at www.iroquoissteeplechase.org
 
Sale of Goods and Services
  • The sale of food, drink, merchandise or services is strictly prohibited except as authorized by the Iroquois Steeplechase.
 
Schedule
  • Vehicle entrance for tailgating areas inside the track (Centerfield,  Stretch, Topside, The Turn, and The Meadows) will be open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 and all tailgaters and their guests must be in place by 10:30 a.m.
  • Vehicle entrance for Stirrup Club will be open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 and all tailgaters must be in place by 11:00 a.m.
  • Vehicle entrance for RV Spaces open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 and all vehicles must be in place by 10:30 a.m.
  • Tailgating areas will close at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010.
 
Tents
  • Tents CANNOT be professionally installed
  • Metro Codes regulations restrict the use of tents larger than 10’ x 10’
  • Awning or staked tents are not allowed
  • Only one personal pop-up tent per space is allowed
 
Vehicles
  • No limousines or motor coaches will be allowed in tailgating areas
  • Taxi cabs will be available on race day and are located in between Lot S & Lot T
  • Vehicles (only one vehicle per space) and tents (no larger than 10’ x 10’) must fit within the parameters of the tailgating space. All tailgating spaces are 13’x18’, except in the Meadows area which measure 20’ x 27’
  • No wheeled vehicles (motorized or other) with the exception of cars and trucks are allowed on the grounds
  • Trailers or towed in equipment are NOT allowed except for the two vehicle for an RV 
 
Failure to honor Iroquois Steeplechase policies will result in
expulsion from the grounds.
