The following Tailgating Rules and Regulations are designed to provide all guests an enjoyable and safe experience.  Questions not answered here may be submitted to the Iroquois Steeplechase office by sending an email to: info@iroquoissteeplechase.org.

 

 WHO CAN ATTEND?

*All guests in the tailgating area MUST have an armband purchased from the Iroquois

Steeplechase. Armbands are not transferrable and must not be duplicated.  Persons with counterfeit armbands or passes will not be allowed entrance or if discovered inside the tailgating area will be removed from the premises and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Armbands must be worn at all times.

 

*Children 2 years of age or younger do not require an armband.  Children must be under the supervision of a parent or adult guardian at all times.

 

*Service pets are the only pets allowed.

 

WHAT CAN I BRING?

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

* Guests may bring in their own food and beverages.

 

*NO GLASS containers of any type are allowed in the park.

 

*Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors is prohibited by law.  Be prepared to show identification.

 

*The sale of food, drink or merchandise is strictly prohibited except as authorized by the Steeplechase.

 

*Kegs, ice luges, and other drinking games are not allowed.

 

EQUIPMENT

*Tents: Tents up to 10’ x 10’ are allowed but must fit along with the vehicle within the assigned space. All tailgating spaces are 13’ x 18’ with the exception of the Meadows, which are 20’ x 27’.

No professionally installed tents, only one tent per space. No awnings or staked tents.

Due to Metro Codes, any tent larger than 10’ x 10’ is prohibited.

Tents cannot be connected between adjoining spaces.

 

*No trailers for hauling equipment or items for tailgaiting.

 

*Grills, smokers and cookers are allowed and must be able to fit into the tailgating vehicle.  Any grill, smoker or cooker larger than 2’ wide and 3’ tall requires the purchase of an additional tailgating space.

 

*No propane tanks allowed.

 

*No generators.

 

*Portable bathrooms may not be brought in.

 

*Display of banners, signs, or advertising is prohibited.

 

*No pyrotechnics, fireworks, firearms or weapons are allowed on the grounds.

 

GAMES AND ENTERTAINMENT

*No drinking games.( Ice luges, inebriators, funnels, etc.)

 

*No organized athletic games.

 

*No inflatable devices such as slides, obstacle courses, rock climbing walls, etc.

 

*No amplified bands or DJs. Sound systems must be at acceptable noise levels, with Steeplechase reserving the right to reduce sound levels.

 

WHEN CAN I ARRIVE/LEAVE?

*Vehicle entrances for tailgating areas inside the track (Centerfield, Stretch, Midfield, Topside, The Turn, and The Meadows)will be open at 8:30 a.m. on race day.  All Tailgaters and their guests must be in place by 10:30 a.m.

 

*Vehicle entrance for Stirrup club will be open at 9:00 a.m. on race day and all tailgaters in this section must be in place by 11:00 a.m.

 

*Vehicle entrance for RV spaces opens at 8:00 a.m. on race day and all vehicles must be in place by 10:30 a.m.

 

*Tailgating guests parked inside the track and in Lot T may leave in between races throughout the day through the appointed gates. The track is closed for a period of time before, during, and after each race to prevent injury to the guests, horses, or jockeys.

 

*Tailgating area closes at 7:00 p.m. CST on race day. Vehicles may be left until noon the next day. Any vehicles remaining after this time will be towed.

 

WHERE CAN I GO?

*"Inside the track” (The Turn, Centerfield, Stretch, Midfield, Topside, The Meadows) tailgaters and their guests will not be allowed access to any areas on the outside perimeter of the track.

*Stirrup Club tailgaters may not go across the track to the “Inside the Track” tailgating areas.

 

HOW CAN I GET THERE?

*Directions and gates-Follow the instructions in your tailgating package. You will receive a parking pass, armbands and a guest parking pass for the assigned parking lot. Signage along the road will direct you to the correct entrance and lot. For additional information, go to Maps and Directions.

 

VEHICLES

*No limousines or motorcoaches will be allowed in the tailgating areas.

 

*No wheeled vehicles (motorized or other) with the exception of cars or trucks are allowed.

 

*No trailers attached to a hitch or towed in equipment will be allowed.

 

 

 

*Iroquois Steeplechase Security has the right to limit access to any designated area for crowd control and safety purposes.

 

 

*Failure to honor Iroquois Steeplechase policies will result in expulsion from the grounds and will result in the loss of reserved spaces.
